My family chose this cruise specifically for the Turks port, which we did not visit. Initially, the weather was to hold us back, then we found out other ships were able to get into the Turks. Carnival took us to Freeport, which is quite simply a port with very little sign of life there. This was my sister's 60th birthday cruise and her first, so we wanted it to be special for her. Not so much!! Everything from the tainted water, poor service, and bad food was truly disappointing. Other passengers were as unimpressed as we were. I have been on other cruise lines like RC and Norwegian and their service and food is tops. Carnival was low of all low. If you like the smell of sewage in the hallways then I give them a 5 star rating. If you like the stench of cigarette smoke lingering from deck 6 to 9 then they deserve 5 stars. If you enjoy paying $4 for a bottle of water because the water on the ship is not drinkable then they deserve 5 stars. If you were looking forward to going to Turks and was happy that other ships re-routed their and we didn't give them 5 stars. If you want unauthorized charges on your card, woo-hoo a definite 5 stars here!!!! If you enjoyed being misled about the $10 ride to the beach in Freeport, then finding out it was $14 and another $3 to enter, and another $15 for the chairs then woo-hoo give them 5 stars. Our family will not cruise again on Carnival, we will be glad to spend our money on a ship that knows what superior service is and whose intent is to make your vacation a memorable one, not one where you wish you were back at work. #glad2bhome
