My husband and I recently cruised on the Voyager of the Seas to New England/Cananda On July 25th. We are both Diamond members of the Crown and Anchor Club. As with most things in life, the trip had its highs and lows.

The new port Cape Liberty is confusing to say the least. There are no signs to indicate which auto lines are for parking and which are for passenger unloading until you get right to the front of the lines. This caused frustration and a lot of angry horn honking from arriving passengers. Because of the late boarding (between 5:00 and 6:00 pm) the dining that night was chaotic. Finally an announcement came on instructing all passengers who wanted to eat early seating that evening to report to the dining room. Unfortunately the dining staff was unaware of this announcement. We did manage to eat at this time and then returned to our late seating for the rest of the cruise.

After cruising with Royal Caribbean for many voyages I feel that the presentation of the food has become more important than the food taste and menu selections. Veal used to be on the first menu every cruise-now it is replaced with a chicken dish. Some how grilled pork chops, roast turkey, and meatloaf are not my idea of a cruise dinner menu selection. The menu on Italian night was certainly lacking in inspiration. We did eat at the Johnny Rockets restaurant and also the Portofino. The food and service at the Portofino Restaurant was excellent and worth the extra $20. per person. I understand though that this price has now risen to $25. Most passengers I spoke to who have cruised before felt that the buffets in the Windjammer could best be compared to cafeteria quality food.
