We chose the longest cruise to make the most of the fact that we were already there, plus we chose the 3 day extension on both ends...3 days prior in Amsterdam and 3 days post cruise in Budapest. Best thing we could have done! I had done extensive research before we went so we knew just what we wanted to do in Amsterdam and also in Budapest. All the 15 or so excursions in each city we visited were included in the price of the cruise.

A bus picked us up at the Apollo Hotel in Amsterdam and took us right to where the Viking Mimir was docked. We were thrilled at the sight of this beautiful, sleek, longship. We boarded and everything from the moment we stepped onto the ship until the very moment we stepped off the ship, went as smoothly as possible. Far above our expectations! The crew is courteous, really on the ball, attends to your every possible whim and foresees possible problems before they arise, such as handing out red Viking umbrellas on rainy mornings along with a water bottle. Upon returning to the ship, they are right there to take your umbrella and give you a warm lemon-flavored white cloth to refresh yourself.
