We chose this cruise, 10 days, Canada, 4 ports, because it left from the NYC port and the price was right.
Ports: The scheduled ports were Halifax, Quebec City, Corner Brook and Sidney, all of which are in Canada. Due to weather and other conditions that the cruise line cannot control, Quebec City time in port was greatly reduced so that we reduced the risk of killing endangered whales, what time we had in Quebec City was spent in the rain, and the Sidney port was skipped entirely due to a massive storm. I've enjoyed Halifax more in the past, but once you've been to Peggy's Cove and the Citadel a couple of times, I don't know there is so much to do there. I enjoyed Corner Brook more, perhaps because it was my first time there. Quebec City, in the rain, wasn't so great. We were docked in the industrial dock and extra 15 minute walk from what I will call the regular port. Other ships were at the better dock. NCL could have provided a complimentary shuttle, but instead was charging $15 for a bus that went from where we were docked to where the other ships were docked. Many people, us included, walked. It was not a pleasant walk. We did not take any tours, but I heard very mixed things about tours from my fellow passengers.
Cabin: I was in a mid-ship, obstructed view, cabin on deck 8. Minimal noise and reasonably convenient to food and entertainment. The cabin was clean, laid out nicely, and housekeeping functions were taken care of quite well. Some people down the hall had plumbing issues which did not reach our cabin. The shower and such were fine. TV programming seemed poorly done -- if I had been sick and was relying on the TV for entertainment it would have been terrible.
Fine. I like the location.
Quebec City is lovely. It would have been nicer if it had not been raining.
Enjoyed a lot, as this was my first time there and we grabbed a local cab driver and asked him for the guided tour. We got very lucky, getting an excellent driver with a great personality.
