We selected this Viking Ocean itinerary as an ideal way to check off our bucket list visits to Croatia (Split and Dubrovnik) and Kotor, Montenegro. We've been to Venice before as well as Corfu and Katakolon (Olympia), Greece, but pleasantly discovered much about these ports that we did not know from before. We chose Viking Ocean based on our past superb experience with Viking River cruises. We were pretty much totally impressed with our experience beginning to end.

We used Viking Air which includes meeting and transportation from and to the airport. The day we arrived from Paris in Venice, the severe fog had delayed our inbound flight by more than one hour. It also prevented all water taxi operations from the Venice airport. This did not faze Viking a bit: they met us promptly outside customs and used Mercedes vans to transport us to a location in Venice where we could complete our final journey via water taxi on the Grande Canal to the Westin Europa & Regina (one of two Viking-selected top ranked hotel) for our 2-night pre-cruise extension.

On embarkation day, we were picked up at the Westin and transported directly to the ship via water taxi. Check in was absolutely the fastest and smoothest we have ever experienced from more than 20 past cruises. Our cabin (Deluxe Veranda, Deck 6 mid), was open and ready an hour before promised. Our luggage arrived exactly as promised.
