My friend and I (both in our 40s) decided to take a cruise to celebrate my birthday. After much deliberation as to which ship to sail on, we chose the Eurodam. We'd previously sailed on the Celebrity Century and loved it, but we'd heard good things about Holland America, so we decided to give the line a try.

In short, we had a terrific week. We'd been to most of the ports already, so this week was all about rest and relaxation.

The ship is beautiful and very, very clean. Staff was pleasant and genuinely friendly. I loved how on HAL you aren't subjected to blaring announcements throughout the day. Classy and elegant are two words I'd use to describe HAL and the Eurodam. Read more
