Timing was perfect, so with the advice of a super agent at AAA (Portsmouth NH ), we were able to book the Romantic Danube , with a great cabin, Veranda stateroom 219 ! The Viking people were on top of everything, from meeting us at the to seeing us off. In fact, our flight leaving Nuremberg was cancelled, but our escort made sure new arrangements were made, and stayed with us until departure. On board the Egil I felt pampered by Anthony the cruise director and entire staff. Amazed that servers knew us by name on the second day. Food was superb with a menu that surprised me with the variety. The stateroom for its size had plenty of room, although we didn't spend much time in it. Shore trips were were well done with guides who knew their sites, and answered all questions. This was a 'bucket list' markoff for an 82 year old celebrating a 55th wedding anniversary, and well worth. Plan on another on our 60th ! My wife also thoroughly the trip!
