My family (Myself, my husband, son-14 yrs, and daughter-12yrs ) had never been on a cruise. We chose Disney because my kids are allergic to nuts and fish/seafood/sesame and we knew from Disney World experience and talking with their allergist that Disney would be the best- AND IT WAS!!! Their safety with eating is the most important aspect of traveling for us.
With the allergies, traveling can be a challenge and there has always been some sort of problem. The chef, servers, employees on the Fantasy were amazing. When we arrived, we went to the buffet. I asked a manager about the French fries and if my kids could eat them or if the oil was cross-contaminated. He wasn't comfortable serving it to them and, without asking, immediately went to another restaurant and got them baked fries. Our experiences only got better. Since we did the rotational dining, our servers knew their allergies, which was great because we didn't have to repeat them over and over. When they brought my husband and I bread, they always brought the kids their own basket of bread that was safe. Every night toward the end of dinner, my kids were given a menu for the next night. This was so they could choose ahead of time to guarantee safety and to make any changes if needed. They made them special desserts. They didn't talk to just my husband and I but also our kids. They made us all feel os special. I watched the manager wash his hands every time he was about to come visit us in case he had come in contact with any seafood. They (Wit, Yusuf, Johnny) took care of us in an unimaginable way! We have never had such a relaxing vacation, in terms of our children eating.
We didn't want for a single thing. Our cabin steward left our room spotless every morning and evening when he pulled the bed down. We looked forward to seeing what kind of creating he made with the towels each night. The ship itself was immaculate. All employees were always so pleasant and helpful. It amazed me how they (servers, steward, bartenders) learned our names so quickly!
Great for four people! It was nice to have the verandah and be able to step outside. The partition between the two sleeping areas gave privacy and really made it seem like two rooms. I loved having a shower bathroom and then a toilet bathroom.
I would choose the same type of cabin again definitely!
Embarking was so easy and much faster than I expected. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
I enjoyed looking in all of the little shops.
The stores were nicer than the ones in Cozumel. The locals were so laid back.
It was really fun to play in the sand. Having "barbecue foods" on the island was really good. They took my kid's orders the night before, because of their food allergies, and made them foods that weren't served to others(chicken fingers and fries).
