The cruise was excellent. We enjoyed the interaction with the crew members in all areas. The food was very good at all the restaurants and the wait staff was attentive, knowledgeable and congenial. While the close proximity of the tables for 2 people typically isn't something we prefer, it was conducive to initiating conversations and turned out to be very enjoyable. We felt the entertainment was very good and enjoyed every aspect of their talent and overall programs. This was our 2nd cruise with Viking and I am continually impressed with the overall organization of everything, the tours, the housekeeping, entertainment, etc. Most of the tour guides were very good and they made the tours very enjoyable. The Renaissance hotel in Barcelona we stayed in at the beginning of our trip was excellent.
Criticisms:
1) Advertising you have 2 days in Venice at the end of the cruise is a misnomer. Since the ship docked @ noon, people who had early flights the next morning essentially had 1/2 day in Venice. This didn't affect us because we extended our stay in Venice but we talked to several people who were really annoyed at the short stay as opposed to what was advertised. They felt it was a "bait and switch".
Very happy with the cabin. It had plenty of room and we very much enjoyed the balcony, especially at night with a nightcap. The steward (Harul) was very attentive to every request and the cabin was very well maintained. The bed was comfortable. Overall, we simply were very happy with the cabin
