Unfortunately we had to miss the last several days of the cruise due to a death in the family, but while on board everything was fantastic. We had an aqua class cabin which was very comfortable -great shower!-and ate at Blu every night. The food was fantastic as was the wait staff. Boarding was a breeze and the Celebrity staff really helped us out when we learned that we had to fly home early. We went to most of the shows (the early seating)and they were very enjoyable. We planned our own activities in Madeira (Jeep tour with upmountain madeira) and rented a car in Tenerife, so cant comment on ship excursions. I loved the layout of the Eclipse and spent a good amount of time at the Martini bar. The boat was completely full, but it never felt overcrowded. Lots of places to hang out if you want peace and quiet. Will only go aqua class in the future primarily because I find the food and service in Blu to be far superior to the main dining room and I enjoy the Persian Garden to relax and refresh. The gym was great and well used by my group.
Very spacious, great shower
Island was stunning. We booked a Jeep Tour with upmountain Madeira for both days and loved it. They take you on back roads to really beautiful places that the ships tours don’t go. Funchal old town was interesting to walk around and nice views. Glad we stayed overnight in Funchal to allow us to experience two days there.
Booked a car with Cicar right at the port and drove to Mt. Teide, then Masca, Garachico, then back to ship. Took a full day. Driving in Tenerife was not difficult. Recommend it.
