One of the smaller of the large ships. Great itinerary. Excellent staff--but standards are slipping. Food not as good as on Silhouette in its maiden year; service a bit less impressive. Even though there were fewer passengers and the ship is smaller, there often were occasions when facilities were inadequate to handle the crowds--at Oceanview Restaurant for breakfast and lunch for example and in some of the public rooms for drinks or a show.
Shops were generally uninteresting, many of their staffs ambivalent. Many people contracted a nasty cough and cold, but shops ran out of cough drops, syrups, etc. toward the end of the cruise. One dinner companion reported he found an alternative at the medical center--a decongestant and cough medication for $400.
Dining room is very attractive and comfortable, although accommodating large size dishes was a challenge for many of the larger tables. Dining service was often slow and food not as hot as it should be-both influenced by the distance of the kitchen to the dining room. Entertainment went from very good to walk out. Menus often lacked imagination.
nicely appointed; large round window with great ocean views and wonderful proximity to the sea
This is a quiet midship cabin with easy access to gangways and the heart of the ship.
