We chose this cruise mostly because of the timing (organizing 9 people wasn't easy) and because we could drive to the port in a few hours. I did not think the boat was especially beautiful inside--but interesting artwork everywhere which was cool. We thought the food was awesome, especially in American Icon, where all of us had dinner each night. Don't bother with the specialty restaurants. We didn't and were very happy with the quality at American Icon. Entrees with beef were especially good. Fish was so so--halibut one night was very dry, my red snapper was just eh...lamb and beef dishes excellent, chicken also excellent. Don't bother with the garden salad--watery dressing and very underwhelming. But the caesar is quite good and the appetizers also very good. Desserts good as well. Don't bypass the Cafe 270, which had very good breakfasts and lunches and you mostly avoid the Windjammer crowds, which during busy times is just awful. Shows pretty good---lots of techno effects which younger folks probably enjoyed more than I did. Great comedians. Staff in the main dining room--excellent all around. North Star attraction was interesting--a little underwhelming. FlowRider was much enjoyed by my brother and niece--great supervisor/coaches there helping out the less experienced. Bumper Cars a hoot. Even my 85 year old mother joined us for that. Great for teens and younger folks as far as activities. None of us did any excursions except my brother and his daughter--found them to be overpriced and didn't bother. Have done similar excursions before on other cruises anyway. Underwhelming itinerary, but we chose it for the port location and availability. It was cloudy and overcast on our day at Port Canaveral, so we didn't even get off the boat. Recommend taking a cab to Atlantis when you are in Nassau (it was $4 per person each way), and touring the place, seeing the sharks, stingrays and turtles in pools around the facility, and then they let us on the beach, no problem! We gave the steward a $20 tip and he set up 6 lounge chairs so we didn't have to sit on the sand. Beach was gorgeous, just beautiful. You can see lots of fish swimming by, white sand, so clean and pristine! A low cost itinerary that we enjoyed very much.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D6

Cabin was fine--very clean, plenty of room for 2 of us. Shower great. No issues at all with the cabin. Balcony was large enough, with two chairs and matching footstools and a little table. We sat out there for a bit a few mornings before we got going. Plenty of storage space. Refrigerator with no "mini bar" stuff inside, so we could put our own wine in there. Safe worked fine to secure passports and money. Bed pretty comfortable--slept well.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

This was departure port so no excursions!

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

It was raining and overcast so we didn't end up getting off the ship.

Nassau

We took a cab to Atlantis ($4 per person each way) and that was great. Toured the grounds on our own (certain areas are for guests only, though) and went to the beach, which we were allowed to do, surprisingly. Gave the steward a tip ($20) and he set up lounge chairs for the six of us. The beach is gorgeous, super clean, white sand, pristine, with fish swimming by often. We enjoyed the day there until it rained!
