Our cruise on the Summit was overall a good one. We have sailed with Celebrity a great number of times over the last 15 years. We usually cruise in Aqua Class because the food has been better than in the main dining room and we do enjoy the Blu restaurant seating arrangements very much. The service there continues to be excellent from everyone. Our room was very well taken care of by our Room Steward. Service in the Forward Lounge with most waiters and servers was generally quite good.
We had only two Celebrity shore excursions, but both were excellent with outstanding guides. The quality of the onboard lectures could certainly be improved, and that has been an issue for many of our cruises. The entertainment, while being enjoyed by many, is not always to our liking, but the comedian was excellent.
Our main issue has been the gradual decline in what was provided when we first cruised to what is presently offered. They are basically little things, like ice buckets and water pitchers in the room, and flowers in Aqua class. Canapés have become less desirable because there are no utensils provided. Many of the daily offerings are rather unusual and are certainly not finger food.
Some items that were provided when we first cruised have gone away or the quality has deteriorated. Our cabin steward was very good and while he has a huge job that used to be done by TWO stewards he did very well.
