Sail Date: Oct 2017
Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony
Traveled with children

We chose this cruise for a big family holiday, there were 12 of us including my 82 year old Mum and my 6 year old niece. The ship is lovely, just the right size and has everything you need on board including a climbing wall, mini golf and 2 swimming pools plus child's pool with slide.

The balcony bedroom that we were in was perfectly adequate and very similar to those on the Celebrity that we normally sail with but we forgot that there is Concierge class on Celebrity which provides you with toiletries and nibbles which were not given on Royal Caribbean (although we never want the nibbles to be honest). My sister had a room for 3 with a large window and had never cruised before, she was thinking that being on Deck 4 would be awful but she loved her room and will definitely cruise again.

The staff as usual were very good, happy and helpful at all times. Food mostly good all the time and excellent service. We had a free drinks package included which is so good when you don't have to buy a round for 12!!

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

Fine, very similar to any other cruise lines. Had problems with shower but got that sorted on the second day so no worries. Very clean but no toiletries or shower cap etc.

Port Reviews

Cannes

Lovely walk along the Prom and then a great day on the beach.

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

Went on the wine tasting in Tuscany - lovely views and great wine in a family run vinery.

Mykonos

Loved Mykanos and after a lovely boat trip from the ship had a good look around and then went to an amazing beach in a taxi - lovely.

Santorini

Not as good as the last time we visited due to the fact there was another Royal Caribbean ship in and it was very crowded. Nobody told us the other ship was leaving at the same time so the queue for the cable car was endless - approximately 1000 long. We had to then go down the 598 steps to the bottom with a 6 year old and an elderly Mum. It was treacherous as the donkeys poo everywhere and when it dries it is just hay which was sooo slippery we nearly came a cropper a few times. The donkeys are literally running up the steps out of control and quite a few times the people on them were shouting at us to get clear, this meant we were covering our little on with our own bodies and leaning up against the nearest wall - it was very upsetting for a child. It has totally put me off going to Santorini whereas we were telling everyone how lovely it was before.

Malta (Valletta)

Got the hop-on hop-off bus but there was not much to see and it repeated itself!! We were a bit confused as it took us to places without telling us what they were but then 30 minutes later we were back at the same place again!! Again it was supposed to be 90 minute ride but we were only half way when we got off and went into the centre for a look around, had a lovely afternoon trying the local cuisine and shopping.

Athens (Piraeus)

Got the open top hop on and off bus but it was much longer than the 90 minutes and actually got off early and went back to the ship.
