We chose Seabourn as we like smaller ships, fewer passengers; we're a couple in our 60's / 70's. We like adventure, travel, we don't need a lot of theme entertainment, and we are foodies; food and wine are important. The entertainment on Seaboard was just right; the entertainment acts in the Main Salon were entertaining, as were piano duo in the Observation Bar. Poolside parties . . .that meant dancing for us - fun! The MAIN REASON that I chose the Encore was the Mediterranean itinerary.

Food:

We loved the options of a casual meal in the Colonnade, inside or out. Sharing tables there or in the Restaurant was lovely in meeting new people. The theme nights in the Colonnade were pretty close in quality to the Restaurant. At lunchtime, if you’re on board and miss not getting in time before the 2:30 closing, the Deck 9 small buffet outdoors with salads, charcuterie, and hot entrees is a good one. High tea in the Observation Bar: a nice treat at 4pm, although once the service was pretty spotty / slow. In order of great good / ambience our dining preference is: The Restaurant, then the Sushi Bar, and next the theme nights at the Colonnade. The TK Grill was overly pretentious; there was a mistake in writing up my husband’s order for steak, the wait in between courses is far too long, and the decor isn’t modern as the rest of the ship. The TK Grill is not for us. Room Service for me every morning for breakfast - - I was feeling very spoiled!

Cabin Review

Penthouse Suite

Cabin PH

Loved the spaciousness of the Penthouse Suite! We could close the door on the bedroom when we had room service delivered, or close the door to the toilet while one of us was taking a shower - - made things very functional and easy. The large table and credenza in the dining area were large enough that the room never got cluttered. I loved the vanity in the bedroom; there’s just enough space to sit and do hair and makeup. The Penthouse has enough storage space for three people; with my husband and I we certainly didn’t fill the closet space, the shelves or drawers. The veranda, now that’s what I loved for sitting outdoors or lounging , and the wide open view. As the cabin was on the Deck 10, the views of ports and islands were stunning.
