Cabin: Mid-Ship Balcony

Excellent package which included meals, all premium drinks, entertainment, tips and service charges. The staff are second to none, so polite, kind, friendly and attentive. The ship is very 'American' which is a bit of a culture shock to a UK person. The food offerings were very American with lots of grilled stuff, massive portions and not much veg on offer. As a veggie I found it hard to find options. The entertainment was spectacular. Priscilla of the Desert and Burn the Floor are superb. Unfortunately we couldn't book for the other shows because they were full. We ate in the speciality restaurants - La Cucina is a good Italian restaurant but in a very strange place. You have to walk through the buffet area to get to it. It lacked in atmosphere although the food was good. Cagneys was very beautiful but once again lacked atmosphere, Teppanyaki was brilliant - absolutely fantastic floor show and eating experience. The main dining room, Manhattan, was exceptional. Service from every member of staff throughout the ship was perfect.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BC

Spotless cabin with excellent steward Wharchito. This is a cabin on deck 8 exactly midship which is excellent for sailing (midship and low) but equidistant from the lifts/elevators so a massively long walk from anywhere. The well known bathroom set up is strange - toilet in a translucent pod and shower similar. I'm not sure what the designer was thinking. The curved sliding doors are quite difficult to close. The 'modesty' curtain helped a bit with privacy, which even for a couple married for 30 years plus is still important, but is really a bit tacky. Makes it feel a bit like a tent! Lovely balcony as long as you don't mind being right above a lifeboat (which we didn't), it's not overlooked. Strange bed - it's sort of circular or rounded which drove my husband mad because he was always hanging out of the bed even though he's only about 5ft 10. It didn't bother me though except there isn't a lot of room to move around. There are loads of storage spaces - you couldn't possibly fill them all, but some take some finding. The electric sockets are hidden and very awkward, in a cupboard and under a counter, I couldn't see them very well at all and it was difficult to manoeuvre to put a plug in. There was one European style socket and 2 American I think. No UK style so take adapters. There is a great coffee/tea making machine and of course a mini fridge which is payable. The curves of the room are stylish but at the same time restricting to the movable space. The sofa just gets in the way - it's a shelf for clothes and items rather than somewhere to sit,
