Embarcation and Disembarcation were flawless. The meals were only average, and we discovered that there was a 'club plan' that offered 'suite' guest a separate menu, even though they might be sitting at the next table.
The entertainment hit a high spot with the performance of "Branden & James" on our cruise. The rest of the entertainment seemed dated--most of the songs were from the 50s or earlier. We would have loved something a little more recent..."Mamma Mia", or "Phantom", or something similar.
The room service was good, although our room steward seemed to 'forget' to leave a breakfast menu every night. We called a couple of times, then took a few off his cart--problem solved!
Room was big enough--about the size of a New York hotel room. I wish the bed had been angled to see the television, but it was not under the porthole...it was against one wall, with the television at an odd angle from the bed.
We spent two days in Rome before embarcation. Rome is a city that one could visit an infinite number of times.
We climbe Etna as far as one can go. 34 degrees, 40 MPH winds, sulfer fumes so thick you could hardly breath...we loved it!
We caught the city bus to Lindos, and toured the Acropolis, for 11 euros each way (for 2).
We went from "Our Lady of the Rocks" to Budva, and St. Stephens, then toured Old Town. Wonderful day!
We caught the HOHO bus to Achillion Palace, and back by Prince Phillip's home, and on to the Old Fortress, and a walk through Old Town.
Weakest stop in an otherwise wonderful set of ports. We walked around Old Town for an hour or two, saw the church, found a grocery, and went back early.
Venice is a city that can be visited an infinite number of times. It was wonderful to be back there again...we got fogged in, and couldn't dock for hours! We were so glad when we finally got off. We rode the Vaporettos everywhere we wanted to go...it's so easy.
