We chose this cruise for the itinerary through France's historic cities, the views and the opportunities to learn about and enjoy French wines. We were not disappointed from the pre-cruise cocktail party where we immediately made new friends and stayed in a beautiful, high-quality Paris hotel. Our Paris tour guide, Phillipe, was knowledgeable and witty and gave us great ideas for seeing more of Paris while there. The travel on the TGV train to Beaune was excellent and we continued to see beautiful sights on our way to the ship. The Avalon Poetry II was modern, immaculate, and the room well-designed for viewing the countryside. The various food offerings and extraordinary wines served with lunch and dinner were another highlight. We loved all the stops and excursions, especially Lyon and Avignon. The cruise ended in Cannes at another beautiful hotel on the Promenade.

We highly recommend this cruise for people who love the experience of seeing historic cities and countrysides, along with superb amenities and service.
