After reading reviews, and hearing from friends about Azamara, we booked a Mediterranean cruise. Beautiful ship, the food was great, everyone, including the captain, was happy and friendly. Our room and bathroom was small, but adequate, clean, and beautiful. The staff were, without fail, obviously well-trained, friendly, nice, and helpful. We loved the thought that went into the design of the ship that there were all of these perfect public spaces to appeal to every taste and desire.
Our previous cruises were on big ships. We really enjoyed this smaller ship. We never had that "cattle call" feeling we have had on the larger ships. I am also fond of good organization so I really appreciated how everything was obviously thought through and organized. We did not do any tours so I cannot rate them.
We would give the boat 5-stars if internet were included, which we expected from a luxury cruise company, but it is not. If one has not sailed with them like 24-times, it is expensive, and yet, even as retired passengers, we absolutely needed it. It felt like a sly way to add to the price of our cruise.
Our cabin was at the very front of the boat. We loved watching the crew prepare for embarkation. It is noisy in the morning when they dock in port, but not too much so and not too early really. The only problem we, or I should say I, had was two nights sailing in heavy winds. We experienced a lot of rolling in the waves and I got seasick. I was fine when I laid down though. We loved our nice veranda though and waking up to a new port. Loved it!
