We picked this cruise to avoid a cross country flight and for more sea days than port days. Then we added on the three day run down from Vancouver to L.A. just for the sea days. So, for us a 22 day cruise, still too short!

Embarkation was a snap in Vancouver, even with a full ship of three day cruisers. We did utilize the Princess Transfer and Hotel which made everything even easier. I know I am on Holiday when I see the Princess person at the A/P on arrival. Put my brain in neutral and follow their directions. We did arrive a couple of days early to visit with friends in Vancouver.

The ship was in good condition and the cabin was up to snuff. Our CC Roll Call had a "sailaway" on deck and a good group in attendance.

Port Reviews

Los Angeles

We were looking to have the In-Transit Shuffle take up part of the day here, but U.S.Customs had been cleared in Vancouver, so we just got to walk off and enjoy a few hours ashore.

Then on the disembarkation here it was a snap just walking through Customs. Much nicer now without having to lug your own luggage through the inspection stations. Way to go U.S. Customs!

Huatulco

I did the Crocodile Sanctuary Princess Tour, and my DW just explored the town. The tour was fine except for the person charging to use the only public restrooms at the end of the bus ride. The heavy rain we encountered was not all that bad as it was very warm out. I do think Princess should re-evaluate their physical levels for outdoor excursions. This one had several persons that had quite a bit of difficulty negotiating the land to canoe transitions. The canoes are designed for those with good balance and legs since there are no handholds or rails to use to step over the bench seats. Great place the sanctuary and very, very interesting with a good lunch.

Puerto Quetzal (Antigua)

We did use the Princess Transfer Bus to the town of Antigua and then did a cooking class on our own, pre-booked online. The Frijole Feliz Cooking Class, it was a super day there learning new recipes for Guacamole and other Guatemalan foods. Take a class here Erin, Leivi, and Pedro, well worth the money.

Puntarenas (Puerto Caldera)

This was a day of light rain and very, very heavy rain. We just explored the town and did some Geocaching.

Manzanillo

Very clean and nice, new port area. One feels very safe here. We wondered around and them hired a cab to show us around. One person was fluent in Spanish so we got to go to some places not normally on the cabs route. Wonderfull day!
