I chose this cruise because it was leaving on my friends birthday. Started out as a small possibility of the two of us going and ended up a group of 10 having a wonderful time celebrating the birthday and enjoying a cruise to beautiful Bermuda. Grandeur (Lady G) is a wonderful ship. On the smaller side but still lots to do and not over crowded. She is showing her age but is well maintained and staffed by an amazing crew. The crew we encountered were great as usual. Royal always seems to deliver on this. This being my 6th cruise, all Royal I have gotten used to the way they do things and have not yet been motivated to switch to any other cruise line. I have noticed a couple changes that I don't like. First, why is BINGO a 1 game and done situation now and no more progressive jackpot played throughout the cruise. We loved the build up and excitement, plus the prize could be a large sum on longer cruises, 9k on a 12 day cruise once. Also, how activities are sometimes limited, they had Karaoke it was limited to 1 hour no matter how many people showed up. If it were longer wouldn't people stay and buy drinks and mingle? We felt "kicked out" right in the middle of the fun. This is not really a big deal and of course there were other things to do but it just seemed a little stunted sometimes. We had lunch at Chops day 1, GREAT food, SLOW service, the only reason I mention this is because our group of 10 and 2 other tables with 2 people each were the only guests and service was slow, with only 14 people in the entire restaurant it would seem it should be easier to serve timely. Service in MDR was a little off as well but still VERY friendly and welcoming and the food was good. I love cruising and Grandeur is yet another Royal ship I would gladly sail again.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

Our cabin, a Junior Suite is small compared to other ships but larger compared to "regular" rooms on Grandeur. The extra storage is very nice and the tub instead of shower stall make it all feel much bigger. This is an aft cabin so we did have a HUGE balcony with 2 chairs a table and 2 lounge chairs. Our group of 10 was on the balcony for sail away and still had plenty of room. It's a bit of a walk to the back of the ship but worth it in my opinion. Our cabin steward Michael was nice.

Port Reviews

King's Wharf

We went to Snorkel Park Beach, great beach if you want to stay within walking distance of the ship. Nice place, clean restrooms, food and drinks available. We also walked around the dockyard shops. Part of our group went to Horseshoe Bay beach, they used the taxi service available when you get off ship. We did not book any excursions with RC this time. Later at night we went to the Bonefish bar for some drinks, Kind of expensive but they had a DJ playing good music and we did enjoy ourselves. 1 important note, their restroom is on the second floor and only accessible by stairs.
