We chose this cruise to replace one in September that was cancelled due to Irma. There were 9 of us. My cabin was E145, interior midship ( LAST one available due to late booking), and I would never book on that deck again. We were under the galley, and at 2:45 every morning the clanging, banging, and crashing noise began. We had ear plugs, so we were o.k., just heard it a little. Our cabin was nice, but our toilet NEVER flushed properly. Two different people tried to fix it, but could not. We had to add a couple of glasses of water to move tissue and other 'items' down into the little bit of water so it would flush. It still took 3 attempts even just for a little tissue.
I have issues with stairs, so this location was perfect in proximity to the elevators, except three out of four elevators at the rear of the ship did not work the entire cruise. This made navigation a bit hard. Five total were out of commission.
I had found a shore excursion on Nassau, Balmoral Island Beach Day, on Trip Advisor for less than Carnival's price. It was $40.29 a person with Viator, and $49.99 on Carnival. Not a huge difference, but when you have to pay for every little thing on the cruise and there have been major cutbacks, $21+ refund would have been nice. I showed it to the shore excursion person, and was told I had to book it with Carnival, fill out the price guarantee, and she would send it to Miami and in 24 hours I would have my 110% price difference refunded. Well, Carnival waited until the NIGHT BEFORE our excursion ( 48 hours later) to check the price with Viator, and of course it was sold out by then, so NO REFUND. I asked the girl to print out the reservation when I made it to show it was available and send it with my form to Miami, and she said, " Oh, no. It is o.k.. They can find it and look at it. I feel ripped off. The excursion was wonderful, will do it again, but their dishonesty left a bad feeling with me.
Midship interior, but under the galley. I DO NOT recommend it. Our toilet never flushed very good, and the closest elevator bank of 4 only had 1 working. That was at the end where everyone takes the elevator down to dinner, also.
We enjoy walking around Charleston and seeing the sights, hearing the sounds, and eating the food.
The water is rocky, there are NO UMBRELLAS. You have to rent clam shells ($30) and it is miserably hot under them. VERY LITTLE shade, and it gets taken by the people on the first tender.
