We had taken a Danube Avalon cruise in July of 2016 with Avalon. Enjoyed it so much we decided to do the Rhine in 2017. In 2016 the ship only had approximately 80 passengers on board with crew. This summer the ship was completely full. Just with difference of 35-40 people you could tell the difference in the service level at dinnertime,
Both cruises had wonderful, attentive and informative cruise directors. Each director had very different personalities, but catered to our every whim! Very knowledgeable with very good sense of humor!
The crew did a wonderful job as well. Each one was very friendly and accomodating.
The food was very good, as well as the bar service. We paid for optional tours on each cruise and they only added to our wonderful experience. The local guides do a wonderful job and take good care to watch over everyone. The earpieces are such a good idea!
I did like the new addition this summer of having a "slow walking tour" option for those that needed it. I think that was very helpful for alot of passengers.
The cabin is very spacious and the amenities are very nice. We love the way the room is arranged for maximum storage and views out the sliding door.
