This was our 25th cruise, first with Princess. We did not explore our departure city before hand since we live here. Called a Car Service to bring us. We arrived at pier and checked in. The check in went smoothly. Once on board we dropped our carry on luggage off at our stateroom and went to the Lido Deck which was the wrong choice. Much of the food there was not so good. Found Swirls, the ice cream bar, and had soft serve ice cream. Then we walked around the ship to find out where everything was, this was our first time on Princess Cruises. Found the casino, the theater, the stores, other places to eat. After the safety drill we discovered they brought our luggage to our stateroom and made our way down to the Allegro Dining Room. The cruise line gave us good people sitting at tables next to us. Sometimes, that does not happen. Our table was easy to get to which is great for my wife. The wait staff was very good and the management for the dining room, Head Waiter, Maitre 'D was also very good. The b est kept secret on the ship was Alfredo's. We had no trouble getting a table and eating the delicious food they served there. The Gelato place was good too. The service at both places was excellent. On our anniversary night we ate dinner at the Grill. It was very good also. They had a cake and served it to us. Entertainment was good. My wife likes the production shows while some of the best sleep for me was during these shows. I liked the comics and piano player they had who wanted to be called Uncle John. Liked playing in the casino every night and met some good people there. Still in contact with some of them. The casino staff was good although not all of them had much experience. They were good dealers and if they made an incorrect or failed to make the payout they knew in short order. Good job Boxmen. Ports- At Newport, RI we met an old friend of mine and his wife. We spend much of our time onshore with them getting reacquainted and meeting his wife. They are nice people. Next stop was Boston, MA Wife didn't want to get off the ship. Went to the market area. It was nice. Made a purchase. Met some folks sailed on a Carnival ship and we had a nice conversation with each other on the way back to the ship. Once back on the ship ate at the buffet and went to swirls since my wife didn't have dessert. Next was Bar Harbor. At both tender ports the crew did a really good job helping my wife with her walker. They were really good even though they almost left the walker at the pier at Bar Harbor. We did some shopping. Next was St. John, NB. We walked to the historic market which firs opened during colonial days. It is the largest market in this part of Canada. Made a purchase from Java Moose. Brought coffee beans, ground, home. Some people wanted to see the graves at one of the parks, why they were loyalists and didn't want to live in an independent United States of America. We walked back to the ship and stopped at a place that sold Beaver Tails. They were good. Purchased nuts from a vendor. Last stop was Halifax, NS- We went on our only shore excursion here going to Lunenburg. Lunnenburg is a nice place. Too many hills for my wife to walk around though. Made a purchase and went to the Fish Shack to eat. Had some fish and chips with a locally made beer. It was good. Went back to the ship and on our only sea day went to the gym. Walked on a tread mill. Walked around the ship. We did have one problem with our specialty dining reservations. Pre-cruise we were told we could only make it once we were on board. When on board we found a reservation for a specialty restaurant we did not want to go to on a night that was not our anniversary. The one person, after much complaining, that did help us was Luciana Mendonca de Moraes, a Customer Service Agent. After being made aware of the problem got us the correct reservation on the correct night. we had a good anniversary.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Balcony
Cabin DF
Our stateroom had a nice size with room for my wife's walker to be out of the way when not in use. Plenty of room for storage. Bed was nice with good size. Bathroom too small, My wife barely had room to turn around in the bathroom. Balcony too small. We discovered if you ask for something from the room steward unless you put it in writing you will not get it.

Room service, was prompt and correct.
