Beautiful ship, doesn’t make up for boring days at sea

Chose this cruise for itinerary and package deal through travel agency.

1) Lacking in day time entertainment & activities. By 5th sea day, was bored. After 9th, weather cold and couldn’t go by the pool, I was exasperated and incredulous as to how little there was to do. Celebrity could learn a lot from its parent company, Royal Caribbean, in this department.

2) Bands for night entertainment were good but only on for two lots of 45minutes in a small foyer area. Needed to be on for longer, in a larger area. Crowd loved them when there were on.

3) Coffee in Bacio Cafe was dreadful, undrinkable. Order a white tea, got milk AND water in teapot.

4) Baggage offload from ship was a fiasco. Bags were put outside cabin the night before. Disembarkation started 1 hour after docking. Early departure bags not there, late departure bags clogging up small bag collection area. Bags need to be sorted in departure time order on the ship the night they are collected then offloaded into terminal in that same order. People were missing bags and delaying airport shuttles.

Celebrity needs to study their market, i.e. Australian made up over 65% of the passengers on this cruise and will make up over 95% on their Sydney to Pacific/NZ cruises. They’re still catering heavily for the Americans that will not be on the cruises out of Sydney for things such as food, entertainment, activities.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2B

Good. They need a better system for converting 2 sing,e beds into a double. 2inche matter was topper kept slipping off and bed could not be made properly.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

Tahiti (Papeete)

Port dirty and expensive. Finished 4 hour tour of island to find most things closed up. Cruise should go to Moorea instead.
