First time to Vancouver, on Norwegian, and to Hawaii for our 25th wedding anniversary. I highly recommend this cruise and itinerary; It was a grand slam for those following October baseball right now. Embarkation a little slow but the disembark was VERY efficient and smooth. (Though we really didn't want to leave!) Entertainment was the best we have ever experienced on a cruise ship. Loved our ocean balcony cabin and room. Dining was outstanding particularly in the specialty restaurants Cagney's, Moderno Churrascaria (Brazilian Steakhouse), and Le Bistro. Weaker links were the Italian specialty dining (not the food per se but the menu) and O'Sheehans, though I liked the atmosphere in the latter especially for watching Sunday NFL football. The service on the ship everywhere was good to outstanding and we liked very much the different themed bars.

We only did one of the Norwegian shore excursions, The Road to Hana Deluxe, and that was magnificent and informative. We went on other island excursions on our own or with other tour groups we contracted with once off the boat. We loved them all - in some cases we got better bargains. Rented a car to Laihana the second day in Maui and enjoyed it without being committed to being on a bus all day. Spent time in Honolulu afterward and did our own tours including Pearl Harbor.

We will definitely go back to Vancouver, to Hawaii (we added a timeshare to our existing one stateside!), and very much look forward to cruising again on Norwegian. Though once you do this particular cruise, you will realize 5 days at sea in the Pacific is a bit much to repeat a second time through. We wished they had an indoor pool and thank God we got the spa plan which overlooked the ocean and was VERY relaxing. When we go back, I think we will just do a Hawaii tour and schedule a Vancouver BC / Calgary Banff Canadian trip as a separate vacation. Still, it is more than worth experiencing once.
