I read every cruise critic review before we left and was a little concerned. Frankly, I think the negative reviews are wrong. Our service was outstanding every step of the way. Every crew member greeted us warmly. Our butler did a great job with every detail requested.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We only ate in the main dining room and LaTerraza....both were great. We loved the lunch buffet in LaTerraza....so many choices. We ate dinner in the room on two evenings....course by course....beautifully presented and very warm. After a long day touring, it was fun to take a break and have dinner in our bathrobes!
The health club is adequate and is never crowded. We lounged by the pool one afternoon...again, very quiet and relaxing! They also made a huge fuss over my 60th birthday with room decorations and a surprise carrot cake (my favorite).
Cabin is well designed and comfortable. Bath is large with a bathtub and rain showered. Closet is very large and veranda is a great place for coffee or drinks.
Visited Sorrento, Amalfi and Positano with Private guide. Gorgeous area!
Malta is a beautiful old city easily explored on foot. St John's and St Pauls are highlights. We also enjoyed the Lacarus war rooms. Very Interesting!
Hired a driver for tour of Costa Esmerelda and two wineries. Very good day.
We just walked the city on our own....enjoy that much more than following Mary Poppins!
Portofina is lovely. Go early before the ferry boats arrived. We walked for miles on the stone path above the town. Also ventured up to Castello Brown for some great views.
Had lunch in a little cafe on the waterfront.
Took the cable car to Erice early in the am. Beautiful medieval hill top town. Would definitely do this over Trapani.
