We started this trip flying into FLL and we stayed at the Hyatt Place at the 17th St convention center. Got a great deal on valuetrips. Upon arrival at FLL it was a madhouse at 7pm. The hotel didn't answer the phone twice for the shuttle so we took a terrible cab ride and the hotel was nice enough to reimburse us for the cab fare. Just a little frustration displayed at the front desk while checking in and the woman asked if we had the taxi receipt (which I did) and good to go. Nice hotel with shuttle to the port for $7 per person. The shuttle was very organized and orderly. They had 4 times I think and we got the first one at 10a (I think, maybe it was 10:30). No issue with the hotel or service. Just be realistic about the food and drink there…it’s limited and small. No issues though and everyone was very nice.
My family of 3 got a crown loft suite and were in 1736. Great view of the zip line, big balcony, and fairly good view of the aqua theatre. We have been on the Allure twice (once in crown loft suite) so we knew what to expect. The room was fantastic with big balcony and close to the concierge lounge. The 2 concierge's were super nice and helpful, nothing but good to say about them (Jeremias and Andrei). We didn't know soft drinks, wine and beer were included in the concierge lounge from 11a-11p so that was a nice surprise. The 2 bartenders in the concierge were great too- Arvi and I can't remember the others name. The coastal kitchen was very good for breakfast, didn't eat anything else there.
We were excited to try the unique things on the ship. The bionic bar looked amazing, but in the end, it was just a weak drink. They should make the robotic arms look like a human or a monster or something other than green metal. The abyss slide was fun, but after 2 slides I was done. Same with the waterslides....it looked funner than it actually was. We did the escape room and were told we were in the 20% that were able to solve the puzzle before time ran out. We had 48 seconds left. We never did it before and I’m sure we only solved it because there was a couple in the group who were extremely intense and motivated. It was lamost as fun watching them run around and bark orders at everyone as it was to actually try and solve the mystery. Fortunately I was on my 3rd cocktail when we entered so I had more patience than normal.
Almost in the middle of the crown loft suites. Big balcony with great view of the zipline. Fair view of most of the aquatheatre too. You could hear the aquatheatre shows even with the balcony door closed but it wasn't excessive and the shows don't end too late. The crown loft suites are very close to the concierge lunge and coastal kitchen. Great room!
e walked to Junkanoo Beach. The boards say it’s a 10-15min walk but it was more like 20-25mins and another 5-10 on the pier alone since we were the furthest ship. The beach is primitive but has a nice view of the ships. There are about 8 little walk up bars to buy a drink or get a couple food items. Most places don’t take credit card so cash is a good bet. We just laid towels on the beach and swam and snorkeled for a bit. Not much shade either unless you rent a chair/umbrella. It was OK, but nothing great.
went to Paradise Beach which was a $15 cab each way. Great facility with lots of water toys, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, big pool, bars, hammocks, etc… The only issue I had was the very generous tip they “suggested” once we got the food and drink bill. Our bill was $55 and the waiter conveniently added another $20 as a suggested tip. 30% tip was too much for my liking so we went down a little. I don’t like that they automatically did that. I’m sure a lot of people just pay.
