We have cruised to the southern ports but never up north so we were anxious to try this experience. We had cruised on the Gem before but had not been on there since the renovations. Ship looked good. We are from New Jersey so it was an easy and inexpensive bus ride to Port Authority and a cab ride to the ship.

Embarkation and Disembarkation went well. We arrived at the pier around ten thirty am and were on board by eleven. The number we received to board was 24 but my husband found a NCL employee and told him we were Lattitudes and he ushered us to the front of the line. Not a big fan of buffets so we went to the Grand Pacific for lunch, walked around the ship a little and our rooms were ready with luggage delivered very timely

Disembarkation was also no problem. Ship pulled into port a bit latter than expected but we were in no hurry and enjoyed a lovely breakfast in the Grand Pacific before heading out to find our luggage. Crossed street and went right to taxi stand and up to Port Authority very easily.
