My husband and I decided to plan a Mediterranean cruise for our honeymoon. Neither of us had been on a honeymoon before so when we were searching, we were really just looking for A) best price and B) best ports of call. We landed on Royal Caribbean's 9 night Greek Isles cruise. I was very pleased with how organized everything was, from checking into the ship on our first day, to leaving and boarding the ship at each port. We never had to wait in lines and everything went smoothly every day. We also found the employees to be exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The only negative thing I have to say is the room that I chose (again, first time cruising and had no idea what an ideal room location was) was directly under the theatre and beside the orchestra pit. This meant that we could hear every rehearsal and show that went on loud and clear. We also must have been right above a major part of the engine because whenever the ship would begin its docking process (seemed to be at least 2 hrs before docking) it was incredibly loud, like a freight train, and would actually shake our room. These two things combined led to many sleepless nights. (We were in room 3500). Finally, with 3 nights left, we went down to guest services at 4:15am after being woken up at 4am by the engine and asked if there were any rooms to change to. The guest services officer let us know that her manager would be in at 8:30am and would leave a note for her, and to check back in after the port of call. We checked in with guest services once we returned to the ship and they told us they only had one inside stateroom on the same floor (we were currently in an ocean-view stateroom). We decided this was not worth the move, since it was likely going to be just as loud. To our surprise about 3 hours later we received a call from guest services. They had a room on the 9th floor that we were able to take a look at and see if we wanted to change. It was perfect, and quiet, so of course we took it! Tatiana from guest services also sent us up chocolate-covered strawberries and a card that wished us a good rest of our honeymoon. We were so happy about this!! We slept very soundly for the remaining 3 nights and we could not be more grateful.

Other than that, food was great! Awesome service in the Tides restaurant. Our server Norberto was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Our assistant server Rommel was an absolute riot and always kept us laughing and smiling!

Cabin Review

Large Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin I

As mentioned above, our first room was very noisy and offered little sleep, especially for light sleepers!

We were then moved to room 9092, which was absolutely amazing! Quiet, close to the stairs and elevators, large balcony with two lounge chairs + table and two chairs. Perfection!

Port Reviews

Taormina (Messina)

We took a taxi from the port to Taormina for 140 Euros. Lots of money, but the taxi gave us 3hrs in the city and drove us back to the port. Quite convenient.

Malta (Valletta)

We took a city hop-on hop-off bus. Took the wrong route! Saw some cool sights but would have liked to see the Blue Grotto, caves, etc.

Mykonos

Took a non-royal Caribbean excursion to the island of Delos, which I highly recommend! Very cool.
