This cruise was basically a repositioning cruise. It went from Vancouver BC to Hawaii and then continued on to the South Pacific and Australia. Our cruise spent 5 days at sea and then another 5 days in the Hawaiian Islands.
The ship itself was very clean, and it's a beautiful ship. We were initially in cabin 3126 but it had some kind of mechanical noise coming through the floor that sounded like a hydraulic pump. The service department was very attentive and helpful and they moved us to another cabin, cabin 3133 on the port side of the ship. Our new cabin was very quiet and our new cabin attendant was awesome!
On this cruise, we decided against visiting the specialty restaurants and ate dinner mostly in the Main Dining Room. Apparently many other guests did the same thing because the specialty restaurant staff was constantly walking around the ship advertising the specialty restaurants. The MDR was great and our waiter and assistant waiter were very attentive and pleasant. Also the food in the MDR was very good!
This is the first time in many years of cruising that we booked an ocean view cabin. We usually book a Veranda but the ship was full when we booked at the last minute.
Our first cabin (3126) was noisy and we requested to be moved. Although the ship was fully booked, cabin 3133 was available because the guests didn't show up for the cruise. Cabin 3133 was great and we have already booked an ocean view cabin instead of a veranda for our next cruise!
We rented a car and did the whole island ourselves. Other than the volcanos this was like most Caribbean Islands that we've visited.
Spent three days prior to the cruise and vound Vancouver BC to be a great city with friendly people. Not an inexpensive city but it was worth it.
We enjoyed ourselves but was really like most of the Caribbean islands that we've visited.
