Embarkation was chaos. Queued for two hours in the sun, due to authorities who had one scanner and one lady checker. Need more scanning machines.
Bar service on board needs improving, waited 25 minutes for drinks in the Atrium Bar, and the same in other bars. Phillopenos very friendly and efficient service on pools decks good, they know the job inside out, but Eastern Europeans never have a smile on their faces and no chat, not really interested, and take ages, maybe they are not trained. Cocktail of the day had a supplement - why?
Islanders restaurant excellent food very good with loads of choice. Italian restaurant good. Gallery 47 restaurant not so good. Food and portions have been dramatically reduced. The Dream you got a good choice with 5 courses, Discovery 3 course. No wine waiters either, lucky if you got your glass refilled. Dream wine waiter refilled all the time. Steak was tough, as was the lamb. Our orders were wrong couple of nights with coffee arriving before desserts!
Entertainment was average or below, the only talented people were the saxophonist Vernal Oruga, brilliant, and Daniella Beck.
Dont do the hop on bus at LasPalmas waste of money like driving round the streets in London.
No Captains Gala night, now dress to impress, which many people didnt. Some wore vests, shorts and trainers, should not be. Slippery slope downhill, traditions will be lost. Very sad.
On the plus side ship was very nice, and the balcony cabin excellent, was always kept clean.
Ship seemed to be very wobbly and unstable compared to others.
Thompsons need to get their act together and make vast improvements. May not return on the Discovery. Time to try another cruise line maybe?
Seeing as this is their flagship expected more and was disappointed.
Good and kept clean.
