Last year I cruised the Eastern Caribbean on Adventure of the Seas. It far surpassed both the ports of call and the food on the ship. It seems with the larger ship, the food quality and choices decreased. There were many children aboard the ship which I wasn't expecting due to cruising during the school year. Embarkation and Disembarkation went smoothly. I recommend using a porter to help with luggage upon disembarkation. They appreciate the work and tip and make things easier for you. The ship is new and in great shape but I prefer the smaller, more intimate feel of other vessels.
I hated Labadee, Haiti. We didn't do an excursion and simply headed for the nearest beach. BIG mistake. The volcanic rocks make it impossible to enjoy the beach or the ocean. I've been told the other side of the island has sandy beaches. Make sure to do your homework and head to a more hospitable area.
Jamaica and Cozumel were wonderful. We did the catamaran cruise and snorkel in Jamaica and the Beach excursion in Cozumel. Both far outdid Labadee.
The cabin was fabulous. Great view off the balcony and the extra closet space is heavenly. The biggest benefit of the junior suite is being "suite" enough for easy embarkation.
We simply headed off the ship to the closest beach. BIG mistake. The area we were at was inundated with volcanic rock. Made for a miserable time.
