Sail Date: Oct 2017
Cabin: Ocean Suite

We sailed on the Dream on the October 1st to 9th. It was supposed to be a 7 day cruise but because of Hurricane Nate, we sailed an extra day. The cruise was mostly great with a few bumps.

This was my 15th and my husband's 12th cruise. It was our first time sailing out of NOLA and sailing on the Dream. We sailed with two other couples we met on other cruises.

The port was a bit disorganized. People seemed to ignore their check in times and it seemed like everyone showed up at the same time. This issue could be in part due to the poor weather conditions and heavy traffic. We weren't very impressed but we were on the ship quickly enough even though we had priority boarding. We shrugged it off and moved along with everyone else that were in line.

Cabin Review

Ocean Suite

Cabin OS

We had an Ocean Suite on Deck 7. The balcony was a decent size with a lounge chair and two regular chairs and a small table. It overlooks deck 5 and one of the whirlpools. If this bothers you, don't book it. We didn't mind it and it was mostly quiet. We could hear our neighbors more so than on any other cruise but it wasn't often. The bathroom was spacious for a cruise ship and has double sinks and a regular tub with glass doors. The lighted closet space is more than adequate with shelves and hanging space. There are also cabinets to store shoes, toiletries etc and a separate dressing area. Our cabin steward, Alwyn was very nice and kept the room clean. We opted for once a day service which we will not do again. We will opt for twice a day. This was new to us and apparently this is how it's done now? Not sure but wasn't a fan.

New Orleans

Flew in the day before and spent the night at Homewood Suites French Quarter. Nice hotel, it is new and modern. Decent complementary breakfast. Friendly staff. Good location.
