Thought it was a cool way to do things - the Viking route, tour Manhattan then return to Southampton on a different ship.
Very casual and friendly staff who chat to you and make the most of the meagre entertainment.
Alizar restaurant, which is not a speciality restaurant, was up there with the best of them. Delicious food in lovely surroundings.
First couple of mornings we were woken up by terrible banging overhead round about 5 am. Managed to waken my "requires 2 hearing aids" husband. When I asked what was directly above me, Guest Services lady said the galley for the Alizar restaurant. Ah. She said she would forward my complaint and ask them to turn it down a bit/muffle it etc. It worked... for one morning, then fourth morning (reaching Iceland) it started about midnight until after 4am. We were then moved to a different stateroom on the 8th deck. Great, but my gripe with NCL as a company is, we cannot be the only people complaining about this and yet they continue to allocate this stateroom with no warnings/no reductions then react when people complain.
