We chose this cruise because of the New England/Canada itinerary and we were not disappointed. Flew into NYC a day early and saw a Broadway show and also stayed a night upon return and caught another show. Love NYC! The port was a little confusing and different from previous Caribbean cruises departing out of FL, but with a little looking around we were able to find our way easily. We always purchase Faster to the Fun and walk right on the ship. Very cool to sail by the Statue of Liberty. Ship is nice...clean, plenty of options for food. Ate at Guy's and the Mexican for lunch on ship days. The steakhouse was very good. I'm not much of a "Fun Day at Sea" type of person so the 1st and last day of the cruise were long days, especially the last day as the boat fought with Hurricane Jose, but I made the most of it with the delightful Emma the cruise director leading the activities. Boston: Uber to Fenway Park and did the ballpark tour. Fantastic! Ubered back and did the Freedom Walk and ate the best Lobster Roll. Portland: Went on "Lucky Catch" Maine lobster boat tour and saw real Maine lobstering. Could purchase one of the lobsters caught and take them to a local restaurant to be cooked. (We did not due to time) Great tour and great staff. Fun and informative and I would highly recommend this! Spent the rest of the day walking around town and eating lobster rolls. St. John: Took the Carnival whale watching excursion to St. Andrews. About a 90 minutes bus ride. It was awesome! The tour was very organized and there were 2 Marine Biologist on the boat that were very informative. We saw about a dozen Minke whales and then had lunch in St. Andrews afterwards. Very charming town and wished we had more time there. Halifax: Rented a car and drove to Peggy's Cove. Great day with wonderful scenery and the lobster rolls there were delicious. Got back from Peggy's Cove with a couple of hours before the boat took off so we walked around Halifax and visited a couple of Breweries near the dock. Disembarkment: Once again we had "Faster to the Fun" so we could basically just walk off the ship when we chose. The port is very congested so we found it easier to get an Uber if we walked across the street.

Wonderful!

Cabin Review

Ocean View
Cabin 6D 5312
Very roomy for 2 people. Surprisingly quiet considering the close proximity to the lounges and casino on Deck 5. Surprised that the room steward only made up the room once a day, but my husband says I agreed to that when he came to introduce himself. (Obviously, I was too excited to get to the buffet and not listening.)
