We choose this particular cruise because we were hoping to see the vibrant colors on the trees on the ports we were to visit. Unfortunately we may have been a week or ten days too early. One never knows. We picked the Vision of the Seas because we had the experience of sailing on her during a 12 day British Isle cruise. It is a comfortable ship, just the right size.
Before the cruise we stayed near the Newark Airport and took a train to midtown Manhattan for a Broadway matinee and dinner on Saturday. The embarkation and the disembarkation went rather smoothly, except for the paucity of taxis in Quebec City. The only complaint that we had about the dining room was that 530pm is too early to start dinner. The food we had there was top.notch and the service we received from our Waiter and Assitant Waiter were fantastic. We ate at both Chops Grille and Giovanni's Table on Royal's BOGO precruise offer. A good value.
As far as the ports were concerned, I was somewhat baffled by the choices of Rockland and Cornerbrook, The others were fine and interesting. Unfortunatley, the time in each of the ports was way too short. I think we could do with fewer ports and more time in port. Once again, I thought the shore excursions were a tad overpriced. But c'est la vie!
This was our first ocean view cabin and it was just perfect for this cruise. I don't think we could have spent many evenings on a balcony on this cruise. The cabin steward Arthur kept the room impeccable and the large window was a plus.
