Chose this cruise for a quick get away. Love RC, however this itinerary/price allowed me to enjoy my third cruise this year. Love Guy's Burgers and also wanted to experience Carnival's old fashion BBQ for the first time. Took advantage of a casino offer as well.
The amentities on this cruise were overall great. Service was substandard. Room steward was not to be found. I believe we may have saw him twice. Wait staff in Silver Olympic dining room also substandard. Their was only one waiter for the table. This was the first and only time n 15 cruises we were sorely disappointed on the level of service during dining. Food in the dining room I would rate good to very good. We ate two times in the main dinning room. I had roast duck one evening and the lamb shank the other and both were great. The potatos end veggies were a bit on the cool side for me. Desserts were exceptional. The one and only thing our waiter was good at was pairing wine with the dish. Guy's Burgers continues to be a fav. The Old Fashion BBQ also did not disappoint. The buffet at breakfast was not the best. Found it odd that one day we had to hand our plates to service personnel. With viruses etc. thought that it was a way to pass germs. Other days was normal where you chose the amount you wanted. Enjoyed the Omlette Station. I would suggest the main dining room for breakfast.....much better!
Bartenders were awesome on this ship, especially Camillo at the casino bar. He was super friendly and engaged the crowd at all times even with long hours it appeared he was working.
Cabin Review
Interior
Was first time to experience an inside cabin. Was not certain I would like it. Since this was a 4 day cruise experience thought we would try it. It was ok, however I do not think we would do it again. Cabin was ample for two people. Furnishings were ok and did not show overly wear and tear for the age of the ship. AC was horrible. We called 3 times. First time we received a card indicating the AC was at acceptable standards. Second/third time it was high and supposedly repaired. It was still extremely warm. The shower was the worst I have ever had. Drain did not function so the water would over flow onto the floor so you always got out onto a mess. Overall not impressed with this cabin and would tell fellow travelers to avoid this room and choose another.
