I am a loyal Royal Caribbean cruiser. The prices are reasonable. The ships’appearance and upkeep are well maintained. The staff for the most part is friendly (one exception, I found the Guest Service Staff to be rude at times and not friendly — they are in need of customer service training). As usual the room attendants and wait staff (dining room, restaurants, bars, and Windjammer) were great. While on the ship overall my experience was fantastic.

I have 2 complaints. First the excursion booked through Royal Caribbean, St Lucian beach break excursion was awful. The tour driver was fantastic and the beach club restaurant had good food. The beach was trash, The locals trying to sell you things on the beach was so annoying you could not enjoy your time at the beach. In addition before leaving the bus, the tour driver told us to be careful and watch you personal items because they will be stolen. So besides the locals bombarding you and the fear of your elongings getting stolen how could you enjoy yourself. Worst beach excursion I ever experienced.

My second complaint is the disembarkation. Royal Caribbean had given my group time for disembarkation,. We were in the last group, the 10-10:45 group. Disembarkation was rushed and by 8:45 all times had been called to leave the ship. Considering Puerto Rico’s recent devastation, the port staff and Airport staff was overwelhmed We were provided transportation to the airport, buses for the guest and trucks for our luggage. Well, a piece of our luggage did not make it to airport. We picked our luggage up at the port warehouse, had it taken outside to the trucks but somehow a piece did not make it onto the truck. After 2 hours of having several trucks unloaded, a Royal Caribbean staff member told us that the luggage was still at the port because we did not pick it up from the warehouse. That was not true. In addition we were told that Royal Caribbean would not bring the luggage to the airport. We had to take a taxi to the port and pick it up ourselves. Very disappointed at Royal Caribbean. Imagine the anxiety of thinking we were not going to be able to make our flight. Fortunate, we had and excellent taxi driver who went above and beyond to get us back to the port and back to the airport. Royal Caribbean dumped a massive amount of people at an airport that they knew was still in recovery. Royal Caribbean could have handled the disembarkation way better. No thanks to Royal Caribbean.
