Sail Date: Oct 2009

We have cruised 12 times in recent years but this was the first and last time with MSC. Embarkation was a shambles and took over two hours. The cabin and the bathroom were very small, the shower cubicle was hardly big enough to have a shower in. Water was free at breakfast and lunch but had to be paid for at all other times. I have never had to pay for water at dinner before on any other cruise line. Tea and coffee were free at breakfast and at 16.00 hours but again had to be paid for at lunch and dinner, another first. Alcohol was very expensive. The entertainment in the lounges was very good and quite varied, the theatre was not so good but it would be difficult to entertain so many nationalities with the type of theatre shows put on by British and American cruise lines. The waiter in the dining room gave the impression that he just wanted you fed and out, he had no time to explain the dishes or to give his recommendations. The food was not good and never hot. the only hot meal we got was an omelet for breakfast cooked in fron of you. The ship was very nice and well laid out but that did not make up for the very many faults. This was our 13th cruise, so hopefully that was our unlucky one, and it will be back to British or American cruise lines for no. 14

Cabin Review

Very small cabin, bed almost blocking balcony door, not much hanging space, very small bathroom, adjoining cabin not a good idea, too noisy.
