Wanted to take a refreshing “cool” cruise to escape the heat of Florida. The Summit itinerary fit this bill. The ship was very old. Expected to have Captain Kate and was disappointed she was on vacation! Our cabin, 2074, was dirty. Dust so bad you could write your name. Sheets had holes..I have pictures. The bathroom floor and shower floor were dirty. Shower curtain had mold on the bottom. We had the best dining room staff..Sherwin, our head waiter was fabulous. His assistant, Silas was very attentive. Andres from Columbia, took care of our drink orders everywhere. He knew exactly what we wanted, no matter where he saw us. Up in the Oceanview Cafe we enjoyed the variety. Kenrick the bar service attendant was phenomenal! His jovial manner and happy attitude got us through some long sea days. It was just like having family on board. We laughed and laughed. The day we were in Boston, the kitchen tried to make Boston Cream donuts. What a flop! They brought out these huge green custard filled donuts. These donuts were so “tough”.. you couldn’t even cut them in half. The head waiter came over because we were laughing so hard. He couldn’t believe it either. The pastry goods throughout the cruise were awful. Celebrity really needs to hire a French or German pastry chef. I used my onboard credits for Internet. I was not able to connect at all in my cabin. I spoke to the tech guy and the front desk. Both people proceeded to tell me they have no trouble connecting in their cabin. Duh..they are on a totally different network! Neither time did they offer help. Never get Internet again. I tried to explain if the room had a WiFi booster it would work. They had no idea what I was talking about. I was able to connect in the lounges and in the Oceanview. The destinations were fun. The condition of the ship, not so much. All of the furniture in the lounges was worn out and the springs in the seats were sinking. Leatherette chairs in the Oceanview was worn down to the material. The Summit needs to be mothballed. This is my 22nd cruise. Was hoping for cold weather but average temp was in the 80’s

Cabin 07

Dirty and dusty. Lisbon our room attendant was lazy. Never vacuumed. Dirty bathroom floor. Moldy shower curtain. Had to ask him to please bleach the bathroom. Bed was hard and lopsided.

Port Reviews

Halifax

Saw the Titanic museum. Walked about a mile to see it. Nice port area and lots of plac3s to eat.

Portland (Maine)

Great lunch at DiMillios... fish stew and lazy man’s lobster. Absolutely delicious! Wish the ship didn’t have lobster this night too
