Choose this cruise for the itinerary....wanted to spend some days prior to cruise in Venice and we were really looking forward to Dubrovnik and Kotor.
Positives first - ship is in good shape considering her age, food in Oceanview and Marco Polo were above average, actually a lot better than the food we had on a previous Celebrity cruise last November through the Panama Canal. Any staff we encountered went above and beyond service expectations even though there are noticeable staff cutbacks. Entertainment overall was great. The ships entertainment crew and band were excellent. One of the better groups we have encountered on Celebrity cruises. Singers and dancers went above and beyond considering it was their last week on this ship/contract.
Not so goods....Disappointing that Celebrity keeps changing their drink packages, i.e. last November on our Panama Cruise we could have Bailies but not this cruise as you had to have the Premium Package....most of the time I went to the bar to get our drinks as drink waiters were hard to find in the lounges and pool area. In the main dining room we were hardly asked if we wanted a 2nd glass of wine with our meal. First Evening Chic night was a disaster...front area was crazy, not sure what happened as I have never encountered this on any other Celebrity Cruises. When we finally got a table we waited more than 20 minutes to even get a menu, not sure what happened, maybe new staff or too many diners at the same time. 2nd Evening Chic night was 100% better. Café Bacio was excellent as usual and we enjoyed many afternoons there.
Jhonathan our cabin attendant was excellent and kept our cabin pristine. He always had a pleasant welcome smile for us and asked if there was anything else he could do. Not sure Concierge is worth the extra money...afternoon snacks where not what we expected and we were worried they had been sitting out too long. They should ask when you want them delivered.
