We flew from OKC to Newark one day early and spent the night at the Renaissance at the airport. We used Uber for the first time for transport to the cruise terminal ...cost approx. $18....picked us up after only a 4 min. wait. We had never been to Quebec City and had heard wonderful comments from people who visited. We were not disappointed. The other ports, Boston, Sydney, Halifax, Bar Harbor, and Portland were appealing. We overnighted in Quebec City and had an enjoyable 7.5-hour Celebrity excursion the first day and spent time the 2nd day exploring the city on our own. We were disappointed there were 8 ships in port and we were stuck at the cargo port along with three other ships. That meant we had to take a complimentary shuttle to the main part of Lower Town but it worked out ok. A similar thing happened in Halifax and you could not walk out of the port area on your own. In both places, Queen Mary 2 was right up front and center.
We were disappointed that Saguenay was cancelled due to the Right whales. Going to Saguenay was one of the deciding factors in selecting this cruise.
Embarkation took about 40 min which was long for Elites-not enough checkin stations for us and I don't know why AAA advertises priority boarding-I've never seen that take place.
The cabin was comfortable. We had an ocean view room on deck 3 near guest relations. We liked the location of the cabin.. Adequate storage space. Small love seat and one chair. We prefer the larger sofa. The room steward was excellent. We asked for ice and a water pitcher. We had ice twice each day and a water picture each day. The cabin love seat had some worn areas. Otherwise the cabin was fine.
