First cruise - Good experience

It was our first time cruising (my parents and myself), so this was an eye opener with a lot of firsts.

We were impressed with the organisation - we didn't get stuck in any big delays / any queues were handled really quickly. We had priority check in so that may have helped.

The room (Junior Suite) was large - the balcony was beautiful and I'm glad we didn't try to save on that. One gripe - the room did not have toiletries (toothbrushes, etc), we got those the next day during the shore excursion.

For meals you get to choose between a pretty good buffet at Windjammer or a "sit-down" at the Deck 3/Deck 4 dining hall. We settled into the rhythm of having breakfast at the Windjammer and most of the other meals in the dining hall.

You get a waiter assigned to you for dinners - and its the same guys that attend you for the whole trip. We loved the personalised service (shout out to the staff at Table #426!). On the last day there was a farewell performance by the dining hall staff that was entertaining.

We hadn't played bingo before - so it was a delight meeting "Lucky Zoe" who was excellent. (We loved it and went back for every bingo session). We also went for some dance classes, towel folding, as well as the nightly shows.

There are many activities - too many for our 4 day cruise, we had to skip some. On our next cruise we would probably give the Shore Excursions a miss - it felt a little too hurried. We'd probably stay on board or go Free and Easy on our own.

Every night there are bars around the ship with live music. We particularly liked the Penguins Trio at Boleros and the pianist (I can't remember his name) at Schooner's Bar.

A nice way to spend the evening was to go for the show at 9.45pm after dinner, then hang out by the live bands till mid-night or so.

For sure we're gonna be cruising again.
