The Emerald Sun is still a new ship with new shiny surfaces and pleasant decor that is attractive and comfortable. The staff are all welcoming and willing to do whatever is requested to make their contribution to the guest's journey being positive and memorable. The Tour Director Jana was exceptional in her local knowledge and advice and charming and engaging in talking to the full complement of guests. The waiting staff in the restaurant were all happy, friendly and willing to help in any way requested. The quality of the food was always outstanding with variety and flavours that were equal to any high quality restaurant. Wines served were excellent and one reisling was the best I had ever tasted anywhere! Our cabin on the lowest deck was still roomy, comfortable and had more than enough hanging and storage space. The room was always well prepared each day. The cruise line makes its ambition to ensure all travellers are fully satisfied, even to the point of providing exceptional alternatives when our boat was unable to sail for 2 days due to flooding in the Danube. The compensation was more than one would expect and contributed to a sense that this line is remarkable in placing passengers before profit. An outstanding effort.
The cabin was as large as cabins on the more expensive decks and had all emenities of those cabins including desk, table, chairs, mirrors, cupboard space, etc. The only difference was the small window but since one spent most of the day on shore or in the public areas of the ship that was not a disadvantage, although at times we'd have liked to be able to open a window! or have it cleaned on the outside! But all features were comfortable and practical and we felt "at home" in the privacy of our cabin.
Fascinating city. A little grimy and dirty compared to some other European cities and pleased it was the first on our cruise as Budapest at the end was amazing! But the city with its red light district and drug laws is a fascinating place compared to most cities.View All undefined undefined Reviews

Beautiful medieval city with wonderful buildings.
Other castles on the journey would have been more worthy of a visit.View All undefined undefined Reviews

Vienna is a magnificent city and all the time spent here was of great value - so much to see and so little time!View All 183 Walking Tour Reviews
Due to its communist past, it is the poor cousin of the cities visited but still an education to see the legacy of the Soviet era still present today. Some fine buildings and history.
An excellent insight into the main attractions of the city which was very useful considering we stayed on an extra 2 days after the cruise. One of the most beautiful European cities and such a delightful memory to have as our farewell to this adventure.View All 353 City Tour Reviews
