This cruise on the Sky can be had with an exceptional price, and once you include the free alcohol the value is beyond compare. That being said, there are numerous issues which explain the price, and should be considered before anyone takes this cruise.
First, the way prices are handled is mind boggling. First, the trip advisors who call before your cruise claim that you must purchase a shore excursion for your Visa. This is not true. I called the main office, and they were very clear on the issue. I did not buy a shore excursion, and left the ship with ease. This is a questionable practice to say the least. Second, once on the ship, if you did not give a credit card but instead chose cash for on-board purchases, you can look forward to daily notices on your door saying your card has been suspended. You can still use the cards everywhere on the ship that does not charge, so it really doesn't effect anything, but it is quite annoying and the letters seem bizarrely threatening. In the end, they are meaningless, and I simply paid the gratuity at the end of the cruise like anyone else. But the letters were unnecessary and stress-inducing.
Second, this cruise does not attract the youth or high achievers. This is simply a warning for those hoping for that particular type of cruise. About half of the cruise was 55+ and the other half was less than fascinating. I suppose I likely fit into the latter myself, since I was on board as well.
While the interior cabin is not spacious, it was fine for 1 person, and would also fit 2 fairly comfortably. The shower was really the only complaint inside the cabin- the temperature was extremely inconsistent. But otherwise, everything inside was as it should be.
