We were a party of 4 my husband and our best friends, We decided on this Cruise as it offered culture, peace, relaxation and some wonderful places that were on our bucket list. The fight out on B.A. was effortless. Arrival at Tokyo airport and transfer to the hotel smooth and extremely welcoming. We were in our room and out again into Tokyo to enjoy our afternoon and night before our pick up next morning after a lovely breakfast, Straight to the docks, embarkation again so smooth and efficient. Then we were on our Cruise. Every Port of Call was amazing. We didn't do any ships organised trips and so glad we made that decision. We were very anxious to start with but were soon put at ease by the efficiency of the staff at the ports. All Shuttle buses were free, liads of staff to advice give maps etc. Taxis were our choice for most ports. At Shimitzu you do not need to book trips to see Mt. Fuji, as weather permitting you get some of the best views from the ship. If the weather is cloudy you don't get to see Fuji and you can save that money. The trips that were run from our Cruise ship that day missed Fuji as they were travelling when it was at its best and by the time they got to the viewing point it was covered in cloud. Most other ports our taxi drivers didn't speak much English but we were able to explain what we wanted by showing cruise ship informstion. Most of the drivers waited for us and took us to lovely places that the tourists could not do by Coach. And it was so much cheaper. We did occasionally jump on a local bus or train again so easy. When returning from Busan be prepared for the morning immigration procedures. It can be a long and slow process. You are called by number, and parties of people can be split our friends were 8 we were nine. There were people split by 10 places. You need to approach one of the staff on duty explain you are a group and they let you all go together. But it can take up to 4 hours if you are unlucky enough to draw a late number. If this happens do not miss the beautiful port welcome from deck 4. The band's play, the children dance, and performers sing and dance for your entertainment. It's well worth seeing.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2A

Cabin 2A

Cabin clean, plenty of storage, good size private balcony, Bathroom and shower bigger than most. The robes given were a welcome pleasure. We would like tea and coffee facilities in the room as we do like to sit on balcony first thing in the morning watching us go into port, before we get showers and go to breakfast. Really missed my cuppa.

Port Reviews

Kobe

Loved Kobi used Shuttle bus, went down main shopping area and visited 3 temples and shrines. Very easy to get around. Used taxi to get back to ship first day. Second day we walked to a beautiful park and gardens, caught the train back to port.
