This cruise was VERY LONG AT SEA. TOO LONG in our opinion. There was supposed to be a "break" about half way through at Dutch Harbor but at the very last minute, Celebrity changed the itinerary to include Sitka instead. While the contract allows for changes based on circumstances, everyone we talked to on the cruise indicated that they were extremely disappointed: a) the change meant that we spent nine uninterrupted days at sea, which may sound great to some people but is other folks' worst nightmare; b) Dutch Harbor was a major selling point for the cruise due to its hard-to-reach location and it historical and cultural significance; and c) no one believed that Celebrity did not know or could not have known about the problem with the dock in Dutch Harbor earlier in the year.

That said, we were in concierge class and can recommend it. There were unique activities for our group, which were much appreciated. We were given an extensive tour of the stage areas by one of the principal dancer/singers AND we were invited to a champagne treat on the helicopter pad at the sail-in to Hakodate. Very nicely handled!

Embarkation as concierge class was easy as far as Celebrity was concerned. But there was a very confusing and time consuming customs and immigration process because we were in Canada but would be going to Alaska in the U.S. so we had to go through two separate customs. Signage was poor and everyone was quite confused.
