We took a 12 day Scandinavia & Russia Cruise in Aug/Sept 2017 on the Celebrity Silhouette. Both Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly (but we did respect the time they told us to show up and I think that helped).

Overall the cruise was very good, the atmosphere was more casual than I expected (even in the main dining room dress was mostly business casual with a couple of chic nights). It was enjoyable to be able to eat in the main dining room without always having to wear a cocktail dress (we always dressed nicely but only needed a couple formal dresses).

The food in the main dining room was good, plenty of seafood, chicken, beef, pasta and other entrees to choose from. The wait staff were very good and always got our orders right.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2B

Cabin 2B

Cabin #7289 was a comfortable size and had a nice balcony, In general it was very quiet but we were surprised how often the staff were in the hallways with service carts (day & night) but they were respectful. Our cabin steward Elvis was friendly, efficient and kept our room very clean.

The balcony was a decent size and had a table & 2 deck chairs. Sometimes I could hear the crew talking because they would gather in an area 1 deck down (Immediately below our balcony) and talk on their cell phones but I could only hear them if I was sitting outside, not from inside the room.

It was a longer walk to the elevators/stairs but we deliberately chose to be farther from those areas. Although the deck map doesn't show any storage rooms near this cabin there was a room that the staff went into/out of frequently a couple doors down from it. It wasn't a major annoyance but we specifically tried to find a cabin away from such areas (and thought we had) but they seem to be everywhere).

Overall though a good cabin and I would stay in it again.
