My wife and I had been apart for four months, and our first anniversary. We thought a cruise would be a special way to spend some time together and relax. My wife booked the cruise and mentioned specifically that this was to celebrate our anniversary. We were both disappointed that the only acknowledgment of our special occasion was an advertisement/voucher for diamonds.

Our first impressions were positive: embarkation was simple and swift, despite us forgetting to check in online beforehand. The same was true on our return, even when the luggage tag had come off one of our bags, we weren't kept waiting too much. Be aware that power strips are forbidden onboard. We had ours confiscated, but were able to pick it up again post-cruise. I did not see this mentioned in Royal Carribean's advice.

In general the ship appears to be clean. We frequently saw staff cleaning throughout the day, in all areas. Unfortunately this does not disguise the poor condition of the ship in some areas. The ship definitely feels dated. This was apparent in our cabin, which was cramped and rough in appearance. The shower was awful: no space, no water pressure, plastic soap and a shower curtain that barely kept the water in. We also found our cabin made up into two separate beds, despite it being our anniversary, althought they did fix this when asked. I did find the lighting in the room oddly brilliant for shaving.

Port Reviews

Nassau

Despite being excited to see some of the history and sights here torrential rain forced us back to the ship. It rained and rained. My initial impressions had been negative as you are an immediate target for hard sells, but I feel that this might have eased had we got a little further from the port office.
